Sector La Daille

The La Daille plain offers two walks for pedestrians:

S1 – Le Chemin des Sources, leads from La Daille along the torrent to the center of Val d’Isère > Round trip 3 km.
S2 – The La Daille loop is an easy, family-friendly trail > 3 km loop.

Access by free shuttle > le “train” Rouge > Direction La Daille > Funival stop.

The La Daille gondola provides pedestrian access to La Folie Douce and its restaurants.

Sector Le Manchet

The Manchet valley welcomes you to its sumptuous setting. Here, it’s pleasant to stroll along the pedestrian loops away from the alpine skiers:

S3 – Le Joseray au Relais, links the hamlet of Le Joseray to the start of the Manchet valley marked by the Le Relais restaurant > Round trip 1.5 km.
S4 – Le Manchet, follows the length of the valley with a magnificent icefall at the end > Return journey 6 km.
S5 – Le tour du Manchet, takes you on an exploration of this beautiful valley > Loop 4 km.

Enjoy a relaxing break in the L’Art Des Mets restaurant in the heart of Le Manchet or at Le Relais.

Access by free shuttle bus > le “train” Jaune > Le Manchet stop.

Sector Le Laisinant

It’s a gateway to the 7th pedestrian path that runs along the Isère to Le Fornet. Take the opportunity to stroll through the narrow streets of this small hamlet of exceptional charm!

Sector Le Fornet

Our favorite is the Pont St Charles walk from Le Fornet: this nature trail takes you right up to the gates of the Vanoise National Park, where you can spot wildlife such as ibex, chamois, bearded vultures and even golden eagles if you’re lucky. On the way back, enjoy the panoramic view of Val d’Isère and the imposing Rocher de Bellevarde.

S7 – Front de Neige au Fornet via the Chemin du Laisinant, along the banks of the Isère river, under snow-covered larches > Round trip 5 km.
S8 – Le Fornet au Pont St Charles, is a trail along the snow-covered Col de L’iseran road > Return journey 6 km.

You can stop for a sunbath on the deckchairs on the sunny terrace of the Crozets restaurant.

Access by free shuttle > le “train” Rouge > Direction Le Fornet > Stop Village du Fornet or Téléphérique du Fornet.

The Fornet cable car takes you to the Signal restaurant. Then take the Vallon gondola and the Céma chairlift to the La Cascade restaurant and dine at the foot of the Pisaillas glacier.

Bellevarde summit

Bellevarde is THE mythical rock of Val d’Isère. A breathtaking panorama can be enjoyed from the arrival point of the Olympique cable car.

For lunch, La Maison Louly is accessible to pedestrians via stairs to the left of the cable car exit. You’ll then have to cross a short stretch of piste under extreme caution, as skiers have the right of way. We advise you to use your ski poles to reach the restaurants safely. There are 3 atmospheres to suit your mood (and wallet):

Café Bellevarde, with its large terrace and indoor area, offers a snack menu and table service. The outdoor “Chalet” offers a quick break with a selection of sandwiches.
Cocotte, an intimate, friendly restaurant serving traditional dishes such as pot au feu and blanquette served in individual casseroles, will warm your heart between two runs.
La Maison Louly, facing the mountains, is a bistronomic restaurant offering a generous and refined menu concocted by chef Patrick.

Meet at the La Peau de Vache restaurant and enjoy a view overlooking the whole of Val d’Isère.

Access by Bellevarde Express chairlift from the snow front in the village center.

Solaise summit

As soon as you step off the gondola, you’re greeted by a breathtaking panorama of mountains as far as the eye can see!

Don’t forget to stop off at the Lounge at the top of the Solaise gondola for a picnic break or a hot chocolate at altitude.

Just a few meters away, the sumptuous Refuge de Solaise welcomes you to its sunny terrace with deckchairs, and the Gigi restaurant inside offers a healthy menu of healthy, seasonal produce.

Lake Ouillette

A footpath leads to Lac de l’Ouillette and the restaurant La Plage de l’Ouillette.

S6 – The Ouillette loop, perched at an altitude of 2500m, offers an exceptional setting on an easy, accessible trail around the snow-covered lake > 3 km loop.

The sunny terrace of the La Plage de l’Ouillette restaurant welcomes hikers in a variety of atmospheres: restaurant, quick meal or snack on the go, there’s something for every taste, every style, every appetite. The cuisine is homemade up there with fresh, local produce.

1st stop: Le Signal

Just off the Fornet cable car, you’ll come across the Signal restaurant, with its panoramic view of the hamlet of Fornet and the village of Val d’Isère in the distance.

Destination: Col de l’Iseran & Glacier du Pisaillas

At an altitude of 2770 m, Europe’s highest road pass and its chapel, Notre-Dame de Toute Prudence, can be reached by the Fornet cable car and the Vallon gondola. Finally, to reach the foot of the Glacier du Pisaillas and have lunch at the high-altitude restaurant La Cascade, take the Céma chairlift. The panorama of the Haute Maurienne mountains and glaciers is breathtaking.
