Cycle tourism and VAE

Enter another world and explore our beautiful mountains, combining sport with the discovery of a unique natural environment. On the Bike Park trails, around the village or in the learning areas, Val d’Isère has a bike touring offer for everyone!

Bike Park: ideal playground for mountain bike enthusiasts

The Val d’Isère / Tignes mountain bike area offers 230 km of enduro, downhill and e-bike trails, and even an all-terrain wheelchair trail classified level 2 by the French Handisport Federation, as well as a new e-all-terrain wheelchair route. As with skiing, the trails are graded according to difficulty, with green, blue, red, black and even double-black runs. For experts, the Bellev’hard black run literally plunges over the village for a vertiginous descent. Families can train on the Popeye, a long green trail with numerous fun modules around the back of the Bellevarde peak.

Unlimited access to the Bike Park is included with the Val Pass.

  • 2 lifts open to access the Bike Park: Olympique Cable Car and Borsat Chairlift
  • 230 km combined with Tignes

The ascent of the Col de l’Iseran highest road pass in Europe

Located on the Route des Grandes Alpes, it is THE highest road pass in the Alps, at 2,770 meters above sea level. The road has several times featured in the Tour de France, and every summer many cyclists take up the challenge, by bike or E-MTB: 17 kilometres and 900 m of D+ starting from Val d’Isère.

At the summit, the Maurienne glaciers offer a breathtaking panorama. Continue the road down to Bonneval-sur-Arc, a charming village of slate roofs and stone walls. Mattis Intersport and Evolution 2 provide a battery charger, so you can recharge your VTTAEs over lunch in Bonneval before heading back up towards Val d’Isère.

The Col de l’Iseran is a mythical route with extraordinary scenery that can also be explored by car, or motorbike. In the village, hoteliers warmly welcome travellers for an evening stopover or longer stays.

Gourmet loop Val Pesto trail

Pedal at your own pace along the “Val Pesto” route, an 18km itinerary around the commune of Val d’Isère. Gourmet breaks are offered along the way, so you can sample the culinary specialities that make our regions so charming.

The 18 km “Val Pesto” route combines the 3 green E-MTB loops around the village, taking you to all the different hamlets of Val d’Isère: La Daille, Le Joseray, Le Laisinant, Le Fornet and the Vallée du Manchet. Opt for the Boucle Gourmande, which combines sport and gourmet pleasure! Tasty breaks in the 4 corners of the village with local produce, savoury snacks, sweet treats, or a well-deserved aperitif.
