In addition, everything in Val d’Isère can be reached on foot and our free buses run on a regular basis, both winter and summer, to help you travel quickly and easily from one end of the resort to another.
If you want to avoid the traffic jams, then the train is your ideal solution.
The nearest train station is Bourg-Saint-Maurice (40 minutes away) where there are plenty of rail services including high-speed trains (TGV, Eurostar, Thalys).
The bus might be the most practical and cheapest solution, and you won’t have to worry about finding a parking space.

Stopping time at these locations is 10 minutes maximum. Parking is not allowed and the driver must be present in the vehicle.

To avoid the heavy holiday traffic on Saturdays, consider leaving or arriving in Val d’Isère on a different day. For example, you could book your stay from Sunday to Sunday.
The Col de l’Iseran mountain pass road is closed in winter. After the winter season, it opens sometime in juin depending on snow-clearing progress at the pass, and closes in autumn sometime in October or November, depending on snowfall.
