The resort of Val d’Isère is engaged in a Quality approach, to respond ever better to your needs and ensure that you enjoy your visit under the best conditions.

Category I classification

This classification is recognition of an excellent quality of reception.

It requires the Tourist Office to meet criteria concerning:

Its municipal, professional and client relationships;
Its administrative structure, to respond fully and professionally to the needs of its clients and the law.

The Category I classification permits the village of Val d’Isère its classification as a Tourist Resort..

Quality Tourism

Quality Tourism is the only French state certificate awarded to tourism professionals for their standard of reception and services.

The Val d’Isère Tourist Office obtained the certification first in 2017, and then again in 2022, with a score of 95%.

The certification requires the Tourist Office to meet criteria concerning:

Client reception, both physical and digital
Information management, to ensure we provide quality information
Client feedback, to ensure the proper consideration of comments and complaints
Continuous improvement, so we offer ever better services

Destination d'Excellence

In 2024, the Quality Tourism certification becomes ‘Destination Excellence’. This new certification reinforces the Quality Tourism criteria, and adds new criteria concerning:

Accessibility, to ensure a proper welcome to clients with disabilities
Eco-responsibility, to promote a sustainable approach in the administration of the Tourist Office and the provision of client services
