Places to party The après-ski, to let your hair down. Cheers!

The highly popular après-ski scene 🎉 is all the rage in Val d’Isère. Follow our step-by-step guide to live the dream, joining in with the festivities or just taking a little time out. Accompanied by a glass of champagne, mulled wine or craft beer, unless of course you prefer a cup of hot chocolate! 💃🏽

Après-ski in Val d'Isère What's on?

Après-ski refers to all the activities available after your session on the slopes, be it a morning or whole day of skiing until the last lift closes. This is the time when holidaymakers may swap their ski gear for swimsuits to round off the day with a pleasant session at the pool, sauna or spa.

But the après-ski we’re talking about here (the real thing!), is more about savouring every moment to the full, for example by partying fresh from the slopes in your ski gear, boots and all, for a real change of scene in an amazing atmosphere.

A must-try experience during your skiing holiday. Here’s our selection of venues, on the slopes or in the village!

On the slopes Head in the clouds

Fancy partying with an après-ski session right on the slopes? If you’re new to this, you can start by lingering after lunch at one of the lively mountain restaurants:

  • At La Folie Douce, you’ll enjoy a Cabaret-style show or music mixed by a DJ.
  • The Bar de l’Ouillette invites you to enjoy the sun, sipping at a glass of rosé on the spacious terrace.

There’s nothing quite like taking a break up the mountain and you might even end up dancing wildly with your ski gear on!  🙂

At the foot of the slopes Village, Daille, Fornet

Fancy sipping at a drink on the terrace? You’ll be spoilt for choice outside because the village bar and restaurant terraces at the foot of the slopes are all beautiful spots that you can reach on skis:

  • The sunny terrace of L’Etincelle beckons you with a wide selection of wines and a DJ set for the atmosphere.
  • Make yourself comfortable in an armchair on the south-facing terrace at Loulou‘s to enjoy a delicious cocktail and the festive music from the DJ set.
  • From 4.30pm, head for Le Cocorico, a unique venue where you can dance in your ski boots with a pint in your hand on the open-air terrace to the sound of live music or a Dj set!
  • Bananas bar, at the foot of the slopes, is the ideal place for your apres-ski with a festive atmosphere!
  • And for a quiet chat over drinks, you’ll love the terrace of the Sun Bar or the Yule!

In the Daille sector, the Barillon de la Rosée Blanche is well-known for its wild, English-speaking après-ski scene. The Bar des Tontons at Val Square in La Daille spreads across two floors with its open-plan mezzanine. This lively venue hosts daily concerts, wine-tasting or beer-tasting nights, morning wellness activities and afternoon lectures. During the day you’ll make the most of the sunny terrace, while the après-ski sessions are for live music and DJ sets.

If you happen to be in the Fornet/Iseran sector, head for the sun-soaked deckchairs of the Crozets bar and restaurant at the bottom of the cable car.

In the village Après-ski or après-shopping?
