Do you know the history of the ski slopes of Val d’Isère?

Have you dreamt of learning all about the history of the legendary Bellevarde slope? Do you always wonder why the slopes in the Solaise sector have letters instead of names? Are you familiar with Val d’Isère’s champions and want to find out more about the resort’s pioneers? Read on, you’re in the right place!

After joining forces with our longtime partner, Skipass, in an effort to research and record the history of the slopes of your favourite resort, Maxime Petre has a few anecdotes to share with you.

Our sincere thanks go to the Val d’Isère Archives (Manon Kempinaire), the Val d’Histoire Association (Christelle Bonnevie) and the Racing Club de France (Olivier Landeau) for their contributions, as well as to Val d’Isère’s pioneers, who have kindly shared their stories with us.

Happy reading!
