Family vacations in the mountains Winter edition

In winter, we welcome you to our family-friendly ski resort, where everything is done to ensure that parents’ vacations are just as much for their children.

At Val d’Isère, we focus all our attention on making sure you have an unforgettable family holiday: we cater for every snow craving by offering reserved areas and activities to share as a family. From the children’s village to the snow garden and the reserved ski slopes, our areas are dedicated to the little ones, and we offer practical solutions to make your vacation in the Alps as easy as possible!

Having fun On the estate

Reserved tracks Family with children

Your children will be able to ski at their own pace, in complete safety, on dedicated slopes:

Le jardin des neiges, on the snow front, is a playful area designed for learning to ski while having fun. For children aged 3 to 4, the aim is to learn to ski through play, in a 100% safe environment. Children are welcomed in groups of no more than 8 per instructor, in a protected area equipped with special fun equipment… to encourage learning as much as possible.

The Savonnette slope, on the snow front, is a green slope for learning to ski in complete safety. Its ideal location in the center of the village means you can watch your children’s progress without having to put on skis (for non-skiing family members).

The Bellevarde, La Madeleine and Solaiseareas are ideal for quiet skiing. Learning to ski at altitude is accessible to all, and so much more enjoyable when you take advantage of specially prepared terrain. Take the time to make your first glides, to familiarize yourself with speed in an area where beginners, parents and children alike can enjoy the pleasures of skiing in complete safety.

Play areas Fun on the estate

Valkids, at the top of Solaise, is a play area entirely dedicated to children, with the longest period of sunshine in the resort. It’s like a mini ski area, with different modules for learning to ski while having fun. There’s also a workshop where you can find out more about snow-related professions (gondola piloting, grooming, tracker sledding and even a zip line).

The Lost Village, a “hidden” area in the trees, accessible only by ski, before taking off your skis and strolling along the suspended walkways leading from hut to hut to the eagle’s nest. Cabins and deckchairs for relaxing or playing with the family. Village Perdu is safe but not groomed to respect the natural environment, so an intermediate level of skiing is required.

Having fun In the village

Plenty to do in and around the village!

Let yourself be tempted by our free activities on the snow front. On weekday evenings, our entertainer will introduce you to Snake Gliss, Yooner or Airbord on the Savonnette toboggan run. Thrills and laughter guaranteed.

Then head for the outdoor ice rink in the heart of the village, where you’ll discover a whole new range of sliding sensations, with a breathtaking view of the Bellevarde face. A welcome chalet, hot drinks and plenty of entertainment await you!

On the snow front, you’ll find electric mini-snowmobiles! Let your kids get behind the wheel of these mini snowmobiles, they’ll love racing and discovering new sensations of speed! This activity is reserved for children aged 5 to 12.

Let’s all go on an adventure to discover nature: on foot or with snowshoes, stroll through the Vallée du Manchet, the Fornet or La Daille. And if you’ve reached your walking quota, opt for a dog sled ride, sure to get everyone on board with these captivating animals. The tours are accessible by big-wheeled baby carriage, and the circuit is available on the pedestrian/snowshoe/cross-country skiing map.
